  1. Sadie, Hang in there, love! I'm newly diagnosed and I understand completely! The right person WILL not leave you for any reason. Be with someone who believes "In sickness and in health"!!! Everyone in life faces adversity. You need someone who will stick by you unconditionally! Hang in there, Xoxo
  2. I also have very mild symptoms...no cuts or sores just some yeast like symptoms. I just went to the doctor on Friday and she told me she would have never suggested I test for hsv2 (I just went to a lab on my own).
  3. My doctor acted like it's not big deal which was comforting yet kind of irritating...she kept saying it's a cold sore virus. I don't have any textbook symptoms and never have she told me that she would've never suggested I tested for this (I did it on my own). She also told me the clinic she used to work for tested every pregnant woman for herpes and it tore relationships apart so she is very reluctant to test if physical symptoms aren't present.
  4. If I already have Hsv1 orally I can't get Hsv2 orally correct? (I've never had a cold sore) & would hate to have a severe outbreak on my mouth.
  5. I have very mild yeast like symptoms...no blisters or cuts or anything just sometimes red and irritated...I use coconut oil and it works really well! I also take lysine, vitamin c, oil of oregano and olive leaf supplements (I haven't had any outbreaks so idk if it's working)...but in my head it is! I've also heard epson salt baths are good, desitin diaper rash cream, diluted tea tree oil (be careful it can burn)...
  6. Sounds like it came from your most recent partner though to me.
  7. Hmm that's tough...IMO telling your most recent partner was the best thing you could do. She could be an asymptomatic carrier. To be sure she needs to be tested. As for the married woman that's tricky...if she gets cold sores then she probably already knows she has hsv1 orally.
  8. Make sure you tell him BEFORE any sexual activity! Don't get caught up in the moment! You'll feel SO guilty and it'll make matters worse if you don't disclose! Research, get educated and try not to make it sound worse than what it is, he'll freak out if you freak out! Good luck! Xoxo
  9. I know exactly what you're going through, you're not alone!! Look up Ella Dawson's ted talk and Dr. Kelly at pinktent.com, you get a free hour long phone call with her, I had mine yesterday and she really helped me!!! You're going to get through this!!! It's really not the end of the world!!! Xoxo
  10. I would get an igg blood test done at a lab (quest diagnostics) or (anylabtestnow) to confirm if you have it or not...I have extremely mild symptoms (just found out I had it Bc I did a blood test) but if I hadn't I would have never known! So basically just Bc you don't have symptoms doesn't mean you don't have it! :)
  11. I just went through a similar situation...I didn't know...no symptoms...my bf was very supportive to my surprise?! Just get educated and remain as calm as possible when you tell her! Her reaction will be based off how you present it to her.
  12. He's probably just very misinformed...remember there's a chance he has it and doesn't even know!!!
  13. I'm in the same boat @katartizo1 I can relate!
  14. My boyfriend no longer wants to use condoms and says he's okay with the risk but I can't seem to get myself to be okay with that, I love him so much that I want to protect him.
  15. Mine was 5-something...I too have never had a traditional outbreak, just yeast type symptoms sometimes.
  16. Phone as I was crying hysterically! But he said we're in this together!
  17. Anyone else have a hard time being intimate with their partner after diagnosis? My SO came to visit me because I have been so distraught. He wants to be intimate claiming he doesn't care if he contracts this virus because we're in this together but I feel guilty...
  18. Well he called me at 7am and said he was catching a flight to see me...I had no choice lol
  19. I'm no expert but you should probably test again at 12 weeks then 16 weeks post exposure.
  20. Are you positive you don't have hsv1 orally and maybe recurrent yeast infections/BV/allergy to soap?
