  1. @LoveTheMountains I am really interested in this.... did you really just start ignoring your prodromes and they just went away? I have tingles all of the time... I am currently taking Valtrex 3 times a day for the past 3weeks. Whenever it is time to take a pill the tingles start. I take it and they go away. I keep trying to cut back but the tingles get worse. Please share more about this... 🙂
  2. Take part in a medical trial....its worth a shot https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/home
  3. I live in the middle east and I was also told by a Dr not to disclose. Also by a Dr that I saw in India. If you travel there are some countries where it is easy to stock up on meds with a Dr, such as Greece. I have a friend who is a flight attendant and they get me meds whenever they go there. I think the Dr are persuaded by drug companies to discourage people from disclosing so that they get more customers. It's discussing. For the same reason, I think that they will never look for a cure.
  4. I am having the same issue. I have had HSV for almost a year now and I on day 19 of my current outbreak. Taking Valtrex 3 times a day. I think I must have a huge trigger that is preventing this from going away. Is coffee a trigger for anyone? I really don't want to quit but I don't know what else it could be. I am not having gluten or oats. I have removed almonds. I am taking Lysine and loads of other immune system support stuff and still the tingles won't go away. HELP!
  5. Still trying to figure this one out... I have constant OB's one just rolls into another one. I can't even imagine why anyone would want to go there. Feeling really down. I am also in my 40's and single and I feel that I will probably never be with anyone ever again. LOVETHEMOUNTAINS please tell me how you disclose so that men love it!!!
  6. LostandFound, How did you figure out oats was a trigger?? I am having 2 or 3 OB's a month and I eat Oat Bran fro bfast. Could that be it?
  7. Hey What about yeast overgrowth? It can cause a lot of those symptoms... try taking a really good probiotic. I had burning my urethra (before the herpes nightmare that I am in now) for about 2 years along with a bladder spasm, in the end I was allergic to black tea which I have been drinking since I was 6. Try looking a little bit wider. Good luck!
  8. Hey, I am going to try MMS. Miracle Mineral Solution by Jim Humble. I have heard really good things including someone irrigating their virus with it. This wasn't a testimonial on a website, although I have read loads of those too but I heard from an actual person that they had success. I am going to research it and then give it a try. What is there to lose? Has anyone here tried it?
  9. @Healingjourney I am not sure what the law is in Bali, but I was saying that I can relate as I am in the middle east and that is the law here. I can understand what it feels like to be away from home, unable to get medical care due to reasons beyond my control.
  10. I think it is common to contemplate suicide but it's not the answer. I know it's horrible and scary right now, I am also in a foreign country... where sex outside of marriage is illegal and a positive test means a phone call to the police! Get yourself into a comfortable room. Take advantage of talking to friends. On days when you feel good, do something a bit fun and touristy. You still need to enjoy yourself. Get a massage, doesn't have to be full body, could be your feet or shoulders. Treat yourself to lots of delicious food. Drink Jamu! It might mean that you don't get as far with your backpack in the same way you had planned but you can still enjoy the time that you are there. One day you will look back on this trip and think "Gosh I wish I would have enjoyed myself rather than sitting in my room trying to figure out how to go back in time.' Really there isn't anything that you can do but you need to carry on and not let this 'little skin condition' hold you back. You are a strong, capable women. You can do this, I know you don't want to... but you can.
  11. Hey has anyone ever tired the Wim Hof Method as a defense against OB's He claims that you can strengthen your immune system through breath, cold water and the mind. There are loads of scientific tests that show him not reacting to ebloa etc I downloaded the app! 😀 🥶
  12. I don't think it would get through customs, I live in the middle east. It's is VERY strict here.
  13. I feel your pain and I wish I could say something more positive but just know that things will get better. I think this has been one of the biggest lessons that I can take away from this situation is to be more mindful about who you let into your life, I will do my best to myself first in all future situations. I don't know if you can apply that to yourself too. Take a small notebook and write down one thing that you are grateful for each day. Read it out loud to yourself at the end of the month and then start again. It helps.
  14. How do you build up antibodies? Ideally I don't want to take antivirals as I don't have a partner so i don't think it's necessary but I don't really want OB's. I find them really stressful and they effective my mental health in a real negative way, it is also very difficult with my job. So how does one build up antibodies? I know it takes time but what else can I do? Do I need to go off antivirals? Do I need to go through OB's without antivirals? Or do I just need to wait? Thanks No Joy
  15. HAHA! I thought 'sore odor' was just my imagination... true thing
  16. Thanks Tone12, as I mentioned, I can't actually test where I live so I have to wait until I travel. Yes I had sex a few times in the weeks prior. The sensations keep coming but I usually take the Valtrex before anything can come back. I only let it go to blisters once, does a bacterial infection hurt the same? The blisters were VERY painful both times, like a sensation of razor blades cutting my skin when something touched it. I wish it was as easy as just getting tested again...
  17. Dear Worried Do you know more about this? I have recurring OB that anti virals seems to keep at bay but my numbers for my IGG test is very low. I can't swab for HSV because of where I live and I did have my first OB swabbed for bacteria and that was negative.
  18. Hello everyone, This is my first post. I am a new member. I have lots of questions and I am feeling quite down and confused at the moment. I contracted herpes in January 2019. I felt the zapping and tingling sensation and then I started to feel like I was getting the flu and then the sores came. I went to the Dr. Now here's the thing, I live in the middle east so going to the Dr for this type of thing is tricky. Sex outside of marriage is illegal (even tho I am not muslim) so my Dr could not swab for H as a positive test would mean that she would have to call the police. She said that she could test for a bacterial infection just to rule that out. It came back negative. She said I think you have herpes based on a visual exam. She told me not to worry about it and just to leave it alone and let it heal. I had a friend bring me some meds from outside the country. So started them after 2 weeks and it healed in another week but I took the meds for 2 weeks in total. I had about 8 sores in total and felt very sick the whole time. I was off the meds for about 3 days and it started all over again. I took more meds and it healed again. I decided to take meds as a preventive as I was so upset and I was having a hard time coping. I work in the fitness industry and it can be so difficult with an OB. In May I traveled for business and I saw a Dr so I could get a blood test. Results attached. My numbers were all very low but the Dr said that this meant I was positive but she couldn’t really give me any more details (3rd world country and not really informed). Why are my numbers so low? What does that mean? Shouldn't they be higher after 5 months? I feel really confused and it is much worse by the fact that I can't get any real medical advice. The dr that I saw here just said don't take a preventative just take the meds when you have an outbreak but I found when I did that I was take the same amount of meds or more because I was having 1 or 2 outbreaks a month. OB seem to come as soon as I stop taking the meds, within 7-10 days. Something even showed up on my mouth even tho I have never had a cold sore before. For the past 2 months I have been taking valtrex as a preventative, again. I feel more normal and not so paranoid but I don’t really want to take pharmaceutical every day. I am a very healthy, strong person and it’s not like me to take meds. It really feels like it is just keep the virus at bay…. I take it in the morning, if I forget and don't take it until the evening I get tingling. If I miss a day I get tingling and that electric zapping feeling. If feels like it is waiting to strike! I am taking Lysine 2,000mg a day. Doesn't seem to help. I am in my 40's single and feel like I have hit a very low point in my life. I can't imagine how this will get any better. I just listened the phone call with Terri and she kept saying that she would swab just to be sure with low numbers that it wasn't something else. What else could it be? I tested negative for HIV in May but positive for HPV 6... joy. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
