  1. OMG, I suffer from piriformis. get a knot there sometimes and it hurts like the dickens. if you can take care of that id love you forever. sorry the last sound is added by the poster.
  2. what I am reading though is, she did her due diligence and was lied to, he premeditatedly decided to not mention his status pre sex. that's the bottom line. and again all life is risky but we do what we can to mitigate said risks. how do you think there are 7.5 billion of us on the planet??? ( that's another issue altogether tho) and yes, American jurisprudence has in it, within the civil court system punitive damages. see lots of companies will build something and it might hurt someone, IF they can make a buttload of money off it and not be held accountable then they will. start talking punitive damages and suddenly the bottom line changes. same with individuals, cant run around doing stuff to people and get away with it. let me ask this, would a prison sentence for him had been more acceptable? this wasn't a " I got drunk and didn't know what I was doing" nor a " I really liked them and got scared but now I want to make it right" it was a 4 date no mention, turn to her after the fact and say, " oh by the way I have genital herpes" that's awfully reptilian for me. for all we know, his OBs occur in the condom area, he could have been having one at the time. something made the jury ( 6 or 12 people, not some on high magistrate with a wig) find him guilty, and quick. I have herpes and if I were on the jury and found out he knew, he was having an ob and a condom that he took off would have covered the ob or area of ob then yes, I too would have found him guilty. guess I lose my hopp bonafides for that opinion. anyway, this is all subjective and seems to be getting confrontational and that's not how I mean it nor want it. we have differing opinions ( everyone else's is wrong by the way :) ).
  3. well, there is a broad spectrum of bump types. I have never knowingly had a herpes bump on my penis, only my scrotum and the area at the base of my penis. fun stuff cause condoms don't cover and I like, er, grinding (tmi). now then we can get various types of bumps in the area. esp as we age. you can look them up but be careful as most google images are extreme cases, usually immunocompromised people. ive had what a Planned parenthood doctor tell me were hardened cysts and molluscum behave like they are suppose to AND get angry and pop like a herpes blister. I don't know if they were actually herpes or herpes got into the bump, like autoinoculation but not permanent. I tend to treat any bumps in the area as potential herpes. like you I didn't really examine my junk as much pre H as now ( my bad) so I don't have a baseline. plus im 50 and getting to that stage where we develop some of those other bumps and having had a vasectomy I can get a bump that actually has sperm in them, yep spermatetous cysts I think they are called. they are dead swimmers but still..... It sucks but you will have to kind of figure this out as you go. for me its when in doubt figure it is just to be safe.
  4. oh and dancer I tried ordering that alum last week and they were out. you aren't stockpiling it to take over the market are you??? ;)
  5. @ jessikaRabbit89, try using your speech to text on your phone during a BP episode. rather entertaining what it comes up with. the taste thing has improved with time. im guessing that part of the nerve got damaged pretty bad.
  6. might I suggest playing the lottery? damned odd sequence of events there. truly epic.
  7. well there is anecdotal evidence that the chickenpox vaccine helps SOME people with OBs as a side affect but im not sure if there is much research into it. one of the tough things about herpes research is how the virus reacts differently in different people. how do you know the chickenpox or shingles vaccine helped with obs or its just that the body has finally forced latency on it? ive thought about getting one or both because I don't know if I had CP and I don't want shingle, yikes. I don't think it would aggravate hsv, maybe n ob while your body deals with the vaccine, if its an attenuated live virus type, not sure with those. beachdude seems to know a lot about this sort of thing.
  8. oh and if you are new to H your OBs tend to be more frequent in the first year or so and the stress from finding out AND the ultrasound ( not clear on if anything was found, hope not) could also be playing a part. I have had ghsv2 for @ 1 1/2 years and my obs seemed to get more frequent when I found out, which was @ 11 months after so, stress can and does help the little bugger reactivate.
  9. glad to hear about the friend being able to help. I have a buddy who went thru cancer 2x and it helped put things in perspective. even on suppressive you will get OBs. I just had one, they tend to be more mild. mine was by comparison and I screwed the pooch royally on it. thought the prodomes were the ob and missed some pills, then decided since I missed may as well wean off since I was going to anyway and bam! now the bumps were minimal but the back pain was not fun. I went back on sup till this clears for sure. im not in a relationship so I see no need to be on sup, plus the extra cost and the what appears to be hair loss. I now have a sixhead instead of forehead. could be worse, my father had far less hair at 30 than I do at 50.
  10. im doubting it would bring on an OB, but I guess anything is possible. im pretty sure its not like a knot you get that can be worked out, I get one on my left upper back that causes my sinuses to get clogged when it gets broke down. im thinking a ganglion is too deep to have the virus " squeezed" out. plus unless your at a "massage parlor" that does happy endings the therapist shouldn't be anywhere near your privates, heck I don't think they will even do glutes at most places. dang now im thinking of a massage, best part is the calves, ohhh the tension release. too cold outside to think of being in a towel.
  11. haven't tried pos single but I think I remember them being sued successfully for using those profiles on their other sites, thus "outing" people against their will or consent. there are some on here who go ahead and use the regulars like plenty of fish and just put it in their profile. dancer is a big proponent of that, says it means they actually read the whole profile, lol. we males are a visual bunch and words make thinky stuff in head hurt.
  12. ok, first, fitgirl my entire post wasn't directed at you, only the part about punitive damages as you said you don't have them up there so I was explaining the purpose of them. in this case a jury heard evidence, we did not. they found him guilty based upon said evidence and did it quickly according to the report. usually quick = lots of good evidence.. she asked for a condom, he agreed then went bareback, he then told her immediately after the bareback against her wishes sex that he had herpes. its been my observation on here that those who fall for the stigma and not tell don't then say something right after, they lament the issue for a bit. he had herpes for 20 years, he was in the medical field ( I know we lambast them but not all are ignorant and im betting one WITH herpes finds stuff out). oral hsv1 and ghsv2, apples and oranges in this case. no one is going after a cold sore. it is illegal in many states to knowingly transmit an infectious disease, esp lifelong ones such as hsv2, hiv, etc. it shows a certain callousness to other to PURPOSFULLY go out and spread it. yes life has risk, however I wear my seatbelt, I don't drink and drive, I wear safety glasses at work, a harness when I go up in swing stages, I hold boards in a way to minimize my chances of nailing myself ( and I missed 1 time and it hurts like hell so im extra careful now). we do what we can to minimize our risks. in the article it mentions she had a neg test a few months before, I would assume that means she asked him as most people who do screening regularly don't have sex without asking. the jury found that yes she was 25% responsible and he 75%. as to the comment after, yea those are like google images, best to stay away. I read an article on potential vaccines a while ago and there were some very unpleasant comments about it meaning more promiscuity and more gay people and anti gay stuff. nasty comments from trolls or even worse, true believers. oh and yes I do get to sue for ignorance and stupidity, if im using a swing stage on a building and the people set it up wrong due to stupidity or laziness or just not giving a fuck and I get hurt, I own their asses. suing is making the other person as responsible for their part in the deal. people don't get to be irresponsible and walk away, caveat emptor yes but they have to be responsible also. and dancer, the jury did say she was 25% responsible. this goes back to my responsibility v fault statement. she wasn't at fault, she (I assume) asked, asked for condom ( I know they don't fully protect) but she did do some diligence, but she IS responsible for sleeping with him on a 4th date after drinking and tokin it up ( neither of which I have issue with, hell pot doesn't make people violent, just hungry and giggly). maybe, just maybe somewhere in Oregon ( which is a fairly liberal state) there is someone who knows they have ghsv2 and doesn't disclose, well maybe now they will think twice and not cause someone all the mental anguish that comes from finding out.
  13. "I'm also very secretive about how many people I've slept with and how lonely I can get because I've completely shut down my love life but am someone who would love to be in love. With all these health problems why would anyone choose to be with me for life? in a heartbeat. because your a worthy person. hell im a 50 y/o chubby guy and if a women aint into me then its her loss, booyaaa.
  14. well I know this, my back aches from prodrome/OBs is a combo of; I slept funny and my back needs to pop, so who knows. funny I was going to ask dancer a similar question.
  15. @ fitgirl, damages are a way of dealing with something that carries no criminal penalty. a way to stop someone or a corporation from doing something bad but not yet criminal. that being said, he was a douchebag and deserved what he got. 20 years with herpes and no disclosure?? just because we have it doesn't excuse his behavior. maybe 900k is a bit over the top and will get lowered on appeal ( the media never mention that) but he did what he did and it was wrong. is your dealing with H, the OBs, the meds, the Epsom salts and peroxide, for the rest of your life w/o so much as a word not worth something? ( ive had it @ 1 1/2 years and have spent @ 2k out of pocket, im 50 so what another 25 years, that's 50k. multiply by 3 for punitive and its 150k). he decided that an orgasm was more important than her health, so yea the arsehole should pay, if it were a knock upside the head or a rape I have no doubt the feeling would be different). morals and ethics stand, no matter what we ourselves are going thru. I disagree with it feeding into the stigma, he willfully gave someone a lifelong issue to deal with against their consent, that is the bottom line in my opinion.
  16. callmecrazy, if you don't mind older guys.............. point being that there is someone out there, its his loss. I have found the women of the H clan to be decent, smart, caring individuals who have a sexiness that is off the charts. so again his loss.
  17. well we do have electric currents running through us, so who knows. if it works then great. im always happy for things that help and always liking when they don't try to claim its a cure.
  18. having had a family member go thru shingles, if you are in the demographic, GET IT!!!! that crap hurts. imagine your worse OB ever..... on your arm or back and covering 100x the area!!! some serious stuff there. scary thing for me is, I don know if I ever had chickenpox. I don't remember it nor does my mother. and if, if, it helps with hsv then that's just a bonus.
  19. oh and tesla was out there, in a good way, some of his stuff still hasn't been figured out and he more so than Edison is responsible for our electrified world, yet Edison gets more credit.
  20. hey, this sounds similar to something I read about from some german company. it used heat. the idea was a small very localized heat source, it was like a pen, was put onto a lesion upon first appearance and it would ( in theory) heat up and kill the virus inside the bump making for faster healing. I don't know if it worked and at least they weren't calling it a cure. just one of those odd things you find when looking up herpes. I recently tried puff ball mushroom powder on a bump after popping it. it seemed to help in drying it out quickly and starting the healing but not sure of any overall change. fyi puff ball mushrooms are used in nat am med for cuts. ive used them that way and they work fantastically!! its the powder inside, sterile, coagulant, and dry.
  21. @missouri i do miss my reeces. I compensate with jalapeños.
  22. hey there, my initial Ob was either, very mono like, concurrent with mono or the H2 reactivated latent mono ( Epstein-barr). all my symptoms were classic mono, save the fact im almost 50. I did get bells about 2 weeks after. one morning I woke fine about 2 hours later got a drink and it ran down my face. talk about scary, I thought I was having a stroke. however I had known someone who got bells somewhat regularly so I wondered if it was that and after a quick look up I knew it was. something about how the forehead reacts to bells v stroke. had bells @ Halloween, if my face was gonna look like it was melting, perfect time for it :)~ I went to the doctor, funny thing he had it at 18. put me on antivirals and steroids. I started improving almost immediately. I also had to use drops on my eye and tape it shut at night because it will open up and dry out while sleeping, so you may want to look into that if you have bells. there are some PT things you can do also. I was kinda doing them instinctively by singing in the car and over emphasizing the words plus some other stuff. there may be some PT on line. it usually gets better over time but can be more chronic in others, esp females. sometimes it may take a while to get better if the nerve is damaged and has to regrow in the sheathe. between the "mono" and the bells I lost the ability to taste chocolate and some other sweets tho my taste has improved over the last year. right after everything, and I mean everything tasted like a plain rice cake, now I rock the garlic, adobo, and the hot sauce and horseradish, I like sweating out the top of my head while eating :)
