  1. @ chinup, I understand. I went on suppressive since I was having a hard time with what is and isn't herpes on my middle aged male construction working live in central florida the home of all kinds of critters body and plan on weaning off after the holidays sometime as this time of year can be stressful. id rather my body learn to deal with it and whoop it down. kinda mixed on the cheering for you with this new guy. of course I want all my h friends to be happy but if h - guys are ok with you all what chance do I have with all the hot H ladies??
  2. plus maybe that was a coming out of sorts?? she seemed to know more about it than most doctors, Valtrex, what one outbreak a year? .
  3. I loved that! of course ive always like amy and thought she was kinda sexy for her humor. that " ive got to stop making white girls" comment almost made me spit out my beer. yeppers, willing to let an entire village elsewhere die so she doesn't get inconvenienced yet willing to live with it if it means having to call her mother, bwaahahahaha
  4. No. all h did was make me think a little harder about who I was having sex with ( something I wasn't doing pre H very much at all) other than that life is exactly the same as it was pre H. same bills, same ex, same job, same weather, same vacation time, same prospects for relationships, same , same, same. http://www.mtv.com/videos/the-kinks/1070370/predictable.jhtml
  5. there are other sexual practices than intercourse and trust me, they can be very fun.
  6. @ beachdude, may want to look at the sheepskin ones again as I think they don't actually protect against STIs. made of a membrane which is permeable if I recall.
  7. as ivory said, antivirals only lower the shedding time not get rid of it . however if I read that right, you both have hsv? and im assuming genitally and 2? if so, unless for quality of life why are you taking antivirals? you cant give each other more of the virus. im confused.
  8. Ok, i get skin tags regularly. They usually form in places that rub against something. I get them on my neck, underarm and on my inner thigh by the boys. They can itch. I think its from irritation, it is a protruding item so its getting rubbed constantly. However, mine are all external so i just cut them off. Not sure what estrogen would do, make them emotional? The med used externally is similar to wart remover, something acidic.
  9. Congrats, and you think H is life changing???? Lol. @dancer, certain antibiotics can nullify BC,
  10. Hsv tests test HSV ANTIBODIES not general antibodies. Hence the type specific test looks for each hsv antibody. Sounds like your doc used the old igm type if there was no specific type and number.
  11. Taking both antiV and lysine, not lysine and arginine.
  12. When i went to PP for meds they gave me a printout dealing with lysine/arginine foods. I did have some odd discomforts when i took both so i stopped the lysine and stayed with antivirals with no ussues. Plan on stopping AV after new year unless some unfortunate woman decides she wants to hang out with me :)
  13. Saw ozzy in 83. Was suppose to see him the day after randy rhodes died in the plane crash. Saw heart, cheap trick, blue oyster cult and ufo in 1 stadium concert @ 1981. Called rock super bowls. Encore was hearts cover of been a long time by zepplin. Lasted almost an hour, everyone from evry band plus some moley hatchet members soloed during it. Saw kiss before they removed the make up.
  14. Haha. 49 and play warcraft. Pvp for stress and forgetting about things for a bit is great. Wiiu but doesnt get a ton of use. Music, indigo girls, marillion, kinks, and the blues. Even met BB King.
  15. Vivagel. Australian firm has am antiviral lubed condom
  16. Well first off it is a lifeform that uses sex to expand its territory so its logical that sex could bring it out of dormacy. Plus the firing of the nerves could be a signaling device. Might i suggest some, er solo practice to learn reaction? Also look into a good water based lube, everything works better with proper lubrication ;) I havent looked yet but are there lubes with antiviral properties?
  17. @dancer i believe by power of selection he meant the saying yes or no. Men may persue but women select. Men are taught to shake rejection off, like a duck does water on its back, because a vast majority of women we approch will shoot us down. Of we dont learn to deal with this rejection the species ends. Fyi this site isnt very phone friendly.
  18. I also like to use, episodically, Echinacea and goldenseal. maybe 4-5 days tops as its not good as a regular supplement but ive had a few whoppers of colds/flus run thru my circles and I knocked em out pretty fast with those herbs.
  19. @ positive #2 is one that I find myself having to explain to really ignorant people a lot. they think survival of the fittest means the biggest muscles. I always like to use the wolf v coyote example. wolves can beat the hell out of a coyote, how are they doing? and coyotes? hmm, wolves are specialized predators who need lots of space, a pack, and large game. coyotes can fly solo ( or in groups) live in human areas and will eat garbage ( and the occasional fru fru "dog"). I would argue the intelligent part IF the intelligence isn't ridged and understands the need for adaptation. after all change is THE only constant in the universe.
  20. howdy all. I know I haven't been around as much. been livin life and not thinking about herpes hardly at all. mainly in the self check up, did I wash my hands way not the "my worlds ended" way I was 3 plus months ago. well one of my big concerns was the link between HSV and HIV, its not just about the sores but apparently some sort of magnet cells also. one of the first bits of info I came upon after my diagnosis was this. well I remembered a woman I had met, was intimate with and found out after the fact had used IV drugs. I was ballistic with her, quite possibly the closest I have ever come to being violent with a women ( no I didn't but dammit I wanted to). If I knew I wouldn't have been with her. well I did my HIV test the day of my diagnosis and it was negative. However, there is a 3 month latency with the rapid test I took and she fell in that time frame. fast forward 3 months since last test and no partners ( ive gotten to know myself pretty well recently) and the follow up was a big fat negativarino!!! yay!! big ass weight off my shoulders. also, a hell of a perspective builder where herpes is concerned cause you know what??? I CAN LIVE WITH HERPES!! ( I know HIV isn't quite the death sentence it once was but im older, no insurance and not a celebrity like magic Johnson) I get to see my kid grow up, maybe live to see my grandchildren ( im an older dad), maybe see humans living on another planet, or our extinction from our hubris ( more likely). so there are far worse fates than getting a few itchy bumps on yer fun spot every so often, hell probably less often than those ingrown hairs from shaving.
  21. I am no doctor and have only done a minor amount of looking into this aspect of herpes. my first OB was mono like with 5+ days of high fevers, massive throat pain, yes the white stuff all over it, subsequent fevers a few days later and finally bells palsy. I wondered if I developed the encephalitic form of herpes myself. from what I remember, it isn't that the virus has actually migrated to the brain, its a reaction to the virus in the body. the immune system is overwhelmed and becomes encephalitic. I may be wrong, like I said ive only done cursory looks at info regarding this. the only treatment I sought was a walk in where they thought MONO with a bacterial infection ( the bumps on the boys) gave me some steroids and anti biotics and sent me on my way. I was fine for a few days then relapsed. kind of scary if I had it as a fair amount of untreated cases end in fatality ( I WAS bargaining/yelling at God a lot during the fevers).
  22. this can be confusing. some people kind of wing it. my suppressive rx is 400mg acyclovir 2x a day and when I had an episodic rx it was 3x a day fro 5 days. all antivirals do is inhibit the viruses ability to replicate, they do not kill the virus, your body still has to do that. one issue seems to be people think of antivirals like antibiotics. and even on suppressive you can still have OBs, they are just usually shorter and less aggressive.
  23. maybe the therapist has H, feels bad about herself and was surprised someone as nice and decent as you had it.
